Who We Are
studiospillane is a commercial interior design studio with a focus on our clients’ results. We create more than beautiful spaces, we design environments that influence behaviour, increase dwell time, improve bookings, and drive real business outcomes.
At studiospillane we work with our clients to ensure that the outcome aligns with their requirements – aesthetically, operationally, and economically. We apply our experience to deliver projects that go over and above their expectations. We are passionate about sustainability and are actively working to improve our esd processes on every project.
Angela Spillane started studiospillane in 2019, after working in award winning commercial architectural practices for 20 years. During that time, she led successful teams to design and deliver projects in multiple commercial sectors, particularly in the hospitality, hotel, retail, aviation, and multi residential spaces. She believes that good design is more than a visual outcome – it can impact people’s behaviour, elevate business, and simplify operations.
Angela Spillane
Principal & Interior Designer
“At studiospillane, we design with people in mind and purpose at heart. Creating spaces that not only look beautiful, but work seamlessly, feel right, are commercially viable, and shape meaningful experiences”. Angela Spillane
Angela Spillane is a highly experienced interior designer with over 25 years in the industry, specialising in commercial interiors across the hospitality, retail, and aviation sectors. As Principal of studiospillane, based in Brisbane, Angela leads a studio dedicated to creating spaces that are not only visually compelling, but operationally smart and environmentally responsible. Interior design is more than a beautiful space for people to connect. It is a business tool.
Angela’s work is grounded in the belief that great design starts with people — responding to emotional and practical needs, and enhancing the way we live, work, and move through space. She brings strategic thinking, creative clarity, and deep industry experience to every project.
Angela is deeply engaged with Australia’s design community. She is Chair of Artisan, Queensland’s centre for craft and design; a Fellow of the Design Institute of Australia; and a member of the DIA’s National Interior Design Working Group. She taught at QUT for over two decades and continues to mentor emerging designers. She is attending Osaka Expo in 2025 as a delegate representing Artisan as one of the Australian pavilion’s cultural partners. The Artisan led delegation will also undertake a research tour in the region to benefit Queensland’s unique design and craft sector.
studiospillane regularly works in a pro bono capacity with not-for-profit organisations to the benefit of our community. We have ongoing relationships and current projects with the Prince Charles Hospital Foundation and Oz Harvest.
At studiospillane, Angela remains hands-on with every project, working in close collaboration with clients, consultants, and communities to deliver interiors that elevate experience, reflect culture, and support long-term performance.
